Estil Helton Sr.

Estil Helton, Sr., 75, of Kildav, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born May 18, 1936 in Briceville, Tennessee, he had lived here most of his life. He was a retired coal miner having worked at Eastover Mining Co. and attended the Church of the Living God.
Estil was preceded in death by his parents, Maggie Poore Helton and Francis Helton; a daughter, Brenda Helton; and a brother, Wayne Helton.
Survivors include his wife of almost 54 years, Juanita Campbell Helton, Evarts; five children, Estil Helton, Jr., Kildav; Charles Wayne Helton and wife, Mary, Bailey's Creek; David Helton and wife, Lynn, Jones Creek; Lisa Tipton and husband, Rodney, Wallins Creek; and Peggy Grills and husband, Billy, Verda. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: D.J. Helton, Matthew Tipton, Adam Helton, Jeremy Helton, Dustin Tipton, Angel Helton, Katlynn Helton, Gracie Grills and Grayson Grills; three great-grandchildren: Allessa Helton, Madison Tipton and Audrianna Stewart; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 11 am in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerry Kirby officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Evarts Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
