Eugene Collins

 

Eugene S. "Rail" Collins age 69 of Loyall, KY passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN following a long illness. Eugene was born April 28, 1942 in Bristol, VA, but lived most of his life in Harlan Co., KY. He was a faithful Christian and believed in the Pentecostal faith. He loved attending church with his church family at Coxton Faith Tabernacle. He was a retired worker of the R.C. Cola Bottling Company and loved spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father John Thomas Collins and his mother Lucille Collins.

Those left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 43 years, Glenda Collins of Loyall, KY; his three children, Tim Collins, Mike Collins and wife Olivia and Traci Ewald and husband Josh; five grandchildren, Megan Collins, Brandon Collins, Brooklyn Collins, Kailee Ewald, and Gavin Ewald; one sister, Virginia Legrand;and one half-sister, Margaret Mason. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends, along with two special sisters-in-law, Easter Saylor, and Suzie Reed that helped comfort him throughout his illness.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Coxton Faith Tabernacle in Coxton, KY with the Rev. Wayne Caldwell officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with Tim Collins, Mike Collins, Brandon Collins, Josh Ewald, Larry Reed, and June Reed serving as pallbearers. And one honorary pallbearer Gavin Ewald.

 

Mount Pleasant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

I know that Rail is in Heaven walking and running up and down those golden streets Praising the Lord. He is really going to be missed. He was my brother-in-law but he felt like one of my brothers. Rest In Peace Rail until we meet again
