Lloyd Whitehead

 

Lloyd Whitehead, age 78, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born July 15, 1933 in Harlan County, Kentucky, the son of Theodore and Cloa (Daniels) Whitehead.

Mr. Whitehead was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenfield and F.& A.M Leesburg Lodge No. 0078. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1980 from Frigidaire of G.M. in Dayton, and after moving to Greenfield, he began driving a school bus for Greenfield Exempted Village Schools.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell D. (Niday) Whitehead; three daughters, Vickie (Ron) Lee of Brookville, Ohio; Connie (Rick) Woodard of Eaton, Ohio; Angela (Jim) Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio; three stepsons, Jack (Cathy) Turner of Tampa, Florida; Clyde E. (Sue) Miller of Hillsboro, Ohio; Douglas L. (Dottymay) Miller of Hillsboro, Ohio; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren; mother, Cloa Whitehead of Maysville, Kentucky; three brothers, T.J. (Iris) Whitehead of Dover, Kentucky; Gary (Pat) Whitehead of Richmond, Kentucky; Bobby (Tammy) Whitehead of Stanton, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Hundley) Whitehead, one great granddaughter, Addison Michelle Markley, one brother, Paul Whitehead, two nephews, Gary Stephen and Greg Whitehead, father, Theodore Whitehead.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, February 24 at the First Baptist Church of Greenfield with Pastor Timothy Mohon officiating.

Graveside service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 25, at the Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins Creek, Kentucky, with Military Rites by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 P.M. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Masonic service to begin at 6:00 P.M. followed by the Veterans Appreciation service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Greenfield, 250 Lafayette Street, Greenfield, Ohio 45123.
