Margaret Salyer, age 79, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 22, 2012, at her residence in Cumberland, KY. She enjoyed being a homemaker for her children. Margaret was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church in Linefork, KY and loved sharing her testimony.

Margaret was born to the late Henry Everett and Elva McKnight Shelby. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Ray Salyer; one sister, Evelyn Crow; and four brothers, Alferd Shelby, Carol Shelby, Harold Shelby and Mack Shelby.

Margaret is survived by her six children, Ellen Bush of Cumberland, KY, Robert (Judy) Salyer of Benham, KY, Paul Salyer of Cumberland, KY, Dorothy (Hargus) Cornett of Totz, KY, Christina (Eddie) Creech of Benham, KY and Peggy Salyer of Cumberland, KY; 14 grandchildren, Renee Halcomb, Ursel Bush, Robert Bush, Matthew Bush, Brad Salyer, Wes Salyer, Laura Salyer, Ashley Salyer, Austin Salyer, Beth Denniston, Andy Cornett, Megan England, Brittni Creech and Kristin Creech; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who will miss her.

The family will receive friends at the Tri City Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, between 6 – 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 2 pm with the Reverend Hargus Cornett, Reverend Mary Bennett, Reverend Marshall Raney and Jack Christiansen officiating. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
