Ruth Duncan Dixon of Cumberland, KY passed away on Wednesday, March 06, 2013, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington at the age of 65 years. She was born in Harlan County on January 05, 1948 to the late Charlie and Bessie Creech Duncan. Ruth spent her life as a homemaker and believed in the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Dixon, and a sister, Faye Cornett.

She is survived by a half-brother, James Duncan, of Ohio; nieces, Sharon Owens of Pineville, Carolyn Shepherd and Marlon of Cumberland; and Mary Morgan of Cumberland; great nieces, Amanda Shepherd and Joshua Hudson and their daughter, Cambria of Cumberland, Catherine Deal and Clarence and their daughter, Brianna, of Cumberland; nephews, Donald Bullock and Jessica Thwing of Georgetown, IN, Charles Cross of Georgetown, IN, Thomas Cornett of Cumberland, Cody Miller of Cumberland, Christopher Morgan of Cumberland; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY on Friday, March 8, 2013, between the hours of 6 – 9 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 09, 2013, in the Chapel at 1 PM with the Reverend John Sizemore officiating. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland, KY.
